Commercial energy performance certificates are
now required to be obtained by landlords when renting or selling a commercial property. Energy Performance Direct is qualified
to assess level 3 commercial properties. This covers most commercial property
that has simple heating, lighting and ventilation systems. The EPC will last
for 10 years or until another is produced.
Energy Performance Direct will require as much
information about the property as possible in order to provide an accurate and competitive quote. Please provide the following
when making an enquiry:
· Full
contact details
· Address
of the property to be assessed
· Approximate
size of the building (m2)
· What
the building is used for. I.e. retail, offices etc.
· Details
on the heating or cooling systems
Once this information has been received a quotation
will be produced and a time and date for the survey will be agreed upon.
The survey time will depend upon the size and
complexity of the building and the assessor will require access to all parts of the property.
The building will be measured and construction types identified including walls, floors, ceiling, doors and windows. Heating, ventilation and lighting services will also have to be identified for each
area or zone of the building.
Once this information has been obtained then
the assessor will compile the information and log the details into the central registration system, an EPC will be produced
along with a recommendation report.
If the client acts upon the recommendations
and requires an updated EPC then Energy Performance Direct will be happy to update the existing survey notes and produce the
new EPC at a reduced cost. The assessor will need to revisit the property however
the assessment will focus on any changes made and obtaining evidence of improvements.
